Pros:
-Bright LED Backlit conceal.
-Very light and portable.
-Cool on your lap and level-headed.
-DVD Burner.
-HDMI output.
-Solid battery life (5+ hours right world) .
-Runs programs worthy better than Netbooks...heck, it has Vista pre-installed, it has to be distinguished.
Cons:
-Bloatware! Tons of useless things installed...20+ trial games.
-Backup DVD's didn't burn.
-Almost zero documentation. Had to figure out on my believe what all the flashing lights were.
This is the perfect combination of netbook & laptop. It has the note of a high-end netbook, with the performance of a laptop. It won't race 5 programs at once, burn a DVD, and render a movie at the same time, but it will do each of these by themselves with zero problems.
The cloak is astonishing. Very knowing. You can't hurry it on the highest setting in the sad because it is blinding.
Battery life is very solid for the size of the battery. A lot of laptops have really mountainous batteries attached to them to rep long life. This computer doesn't have a titanic battery, but lasts a very long time. It has a battery management system pre-installed that does the same thing as Windows 7 RC. I turned it off and fair mature Windows 7.
Overall, this computer can't be beaten for the imprint. I have used/owned Apple laptops in the past. With Windows 7 running, this computer is better than any Mac at half the imprint...now, if only we could rep rid of the crapware.
First of all, you have to catch that there will be no "perfect" laptop unless you have a deep pocket. Yes, I would esteem to have a machine that gives me the best of everything but then, I would utilize a lot more than this. My first laptop was a Toshiba Satellite M35X and it kept me on my nerves because the battery life was a sorrowful 2+ hr. I could not exercise the energy saving mode to work either because the conceal would be too sad in any lit environment. I had to invent obvious I always shuts it down when taking a atomize and I had to charge it 3 times a day if not more often. It drove me nuts! And I eventually give up on taking it with me due to the Toshiba's 6+ lb weight. And to top it off, I paid over $900 for it!
So I finally decided that I have had enough with the Satellite and I learned my lessons. For my 2nd laptop, I decided to stick to what matters to me the most -- the weight and battery life. I was thrilled when the Timeline came to the market because all the light and thin and long battery life laptops fair cost blueprint more than I am willing to pay for. I ABSOLUTELY Worship the portability of this ACER Timeline 4810TZ. I only charge the battery once a day and I leave the cords at home. I am so relieved not having to be concerned about the battery level constantly. In energy saving mode the camouflage is serene tantalizing and gleaming. I installed Visual Studio to do my programming work and it runs fair. It's very mild and stays icy. (my Satellite was by no means noisy but the fan was annoying, and any laptop that runs hot should be a grief to you, my co-worker's HP was designed for cooking and it cooked itself to death in unbiased over a year!) The sound quality is beautiful. Don't forget to update the video driver if yours comes with an older version or you might experience the problems mentioned in the other review. I have had this laptop for almost 3 months and the keys are objective pleasing. I feel it's well built and looks delicate. Overall, this laptop is a vast engage and if you need more processing power and can afford a itsy-bitsy more (about $300 at time of this review), go for the model with the SU9400 processor. If you are not clear about Acer's reliability, your best bet will be to assume a 2 year old-fashioned model because you honest don't know what issues a novel model might have. My Toshiba had a class action suit due to many many problems and wasn't Toshiba a decent trace? This is why now my strategy for computers is to employ the least for what I need and not overbuy. This design I can afford to upgrade more often regardless of my "luck" with any model.
First, check into Smartcaps from [...] to Choose the Cap Lock spot (There being no state light - been using this product for years on other laptops, this time it is a necessity/lifesaver!)
Got it for my lady, to still down the complaints about cords, connectivity & XP problems - intelligent that any problems would only increase the volume. She was not picked for her technical expertise.
It has been nice and composed ever since. The 8-hour battery lets her carry it around unencumbered throughout the ranch, she knows about the "power-saver" button and returns it to power in the evenings. The controls are quirky but that only seems to add to its charm - her assessment of the conceal is that it is like the mirror on a ladies' compact - thin and solid.
By the blueprint, selected the 14" over the 13" strictly for the CD player - did not need the complaints. Did not mention the lack of Bluetooth to her - and hopefully she won't be reading this. Picked up a cheap, minute USB Bluetooth radio planning to leave it plugged in, but it protrudes too obtrusively, more like a mushroom than a bump.
Otherwise, am Very Overjoyed - and things are calm. For now.
